It is 2 a.m., and your sweet baby is drooling, chewing, and crying. You gave Chamomilla because every homeopathy mom reaches for Chamomilla first. Then you waited. And waited. Still, the screaming continues, and now the dog looks worried too. Friend, I have good news. Homeopathy offers many homeopathic remedies for teething, and Chamomilla is just one. So grab your remedy kit, and let’s look at the other options.

Why Chamomilla Doesn’t Always Work
Chamomilla works beautifully for the baby who is angry, demanding, and impossible to please. This child wants the toy, then throws the toy. Often, one cheek turns red while the other stays pale. However, not every teething baby fits that picture. Homeopathy treats the whole child, not the diagnosis. In other words, we match the remedy to how your baby acts and feels. When the picture changes, so does the remedy.
Is Homeopathy Safe For Teething Babies?
Yes, and this is my favorite part. Homeopathic remedies are highly diluted. For that reason, even remedies made from poisonous plants, like Belladonna, are safe for little ones. You won’t find dyes, numbing agents, or sugar overloads here. Better yet, you won’t trade one problem for a list of side effects. That’s why so many families choose homeopathy for teething.
Homeopathic Remedies For Teething And Their Keynotes
Below are my go-to teething remedies for babies, beyond Chamomilla. Read each keynote, then picture your child. Finally, choose the closest match.
Belladonna
Belladonna fits teething that hits fast and hot. Suddenly, your baby has a bright red face, hot head, and cold hands and feet. The pupils may look large. Your baby may also bite down hard on anything nearby. Light, noise, and jarring make everything worse.
Calcarea Carbonica
Calc carb suits the chubby, easygoing baby whose teeth come in late. Their head often sweats at night, soaking the pillow. Usually, these babies feel chilly and move at their own slow pace. Many also love eggs once they start solids.
Calcarea Phosphorica
Calcarea phos fits the thinner baby with slow, difficult teething. This child whines and frets constantly. For example, they want you to hold them, and then they want down right away. Teething may also bring green, loose stools.
Pulsatilla
Think of Pulsatilla for the weepy, clingy baby who just wants Mom. This child cries softly and calms down with cuddles. Also, they often feel better outdoors in fresh air. A warm, stuffy room makes them more miserable. Interestingly, they rarely ask for a drink.
Kreosotum
Kreosotum fits the baby with very painful, swollen gums. Their new teeth may show early decay soon after they appear. Meanwhile, the child stays restless, irritable, and up most of the night. Drool or stools may feel hot and burn the skin.
Silicea
Silicea suits the gentle, shy baby with slow teething and little stamina. These babies often have sweaty heads and sweaty, smelly feet. Additionally, they feel cold easily and catch every cold going around. Silicea often helps quiet, delicate children cut teeth more easily.
Phytolacca
Phytolacca has one clear keynote. The baby has an overwhelming urge to bite down hard. They clamp onto fingers, toys, and even Mom while nursing. Therefore, if your baby bites hard and often, consider Phytolacca.
Magnesia Phosphorica
Mag phos helps when teething comes with cramping or colic. Your baby pulls up their legs and cries out in pain. Notably, warmth and gentle pressure bring relief. A warm hand on the belly helps this child settle.
Coffea Cruda
Coffea fits the wide-awake, wired baby who cannot fall asleep. The pain seems unbearable, and your baby feels everything intensely. Surprisingly, cold water in the mouth often brings relief. If your baby seems overexcited and sleepless, reach for Coffea.
Podophyllum
Podophyllum fits teething with diarrhea. The stools gush out suddenly and often come early in the morning. At night, your baby may grind their gums or roll their head. Afterward, they look tired and weak.
How To Give Homeopathy For Teething
First, choose the remedy that matches most of your baby’s symptoms. Next, dissolve one or two pellets in a little water. Then, give a small sip or a few drops on the tongue. Watch your baby closely after each dose. If you see improvement, stop and wait. Repeat only when symptoms return. On the other hand, if nothing changes after three or four doses, try a better match.
Keep in mind, a 30C potency works well for most home use. Also, store remedies away from strong smells, heat, and sunlight.
When To Call For Extra Help
Teething can bring mild fussiness and a slightly warm body. Still, a high fever, ongoing vomiting, or a very lethargic baby needs prompt medical attention. Trust your mom instincts. Likewise, if teething troubles keep coming back, your child may need deeper constitutional care. That’s where a professional homeopath can help.
